Did you know that baking soda is an incredibly effective way to clean your hair? Discover the recipe for a healthy and natural shampoo!
If you are a passionate of DIY beauty, this article will certainly interest you and help you reduce your exposure to potentially harmful chemicals, while giving you impressive results.
You certainly ask if conventional shampoos, you regularly use to wash your hair, can be toxic and present a real danger ... Well, they can contain many harmful ingredients like:
- Sodium lauryl sulfate
- The sodium laureth sulfate
- The diethanolamine (DEA)
- Parabens
- The perfumes
There are many brands that produce natural shampoos that do not contain these harmful materials ... Better yet, you can prepare your own natural shampoo to solve your hair problems and avoid toxic products.
Shampoos absorb fat naturally secreted by the scalp, which is why your hair becomes very greasy  when you stop using the shampoo, but it only lasts for few weeks ... Now you can change this habit and opt for a natural shampoo made from baking soda, which is effective to clean hair and regulate the production of oil in the scalp that you can use 2 to 3 times a week!
How it works ?
It is true that at first it will be difficult to get used to this natural shampoo because it does not foam.
Step 1
Shampoo with baking soda
- In a small bottle, mix 1 part of baking soda with 3 parts of water.
- Apply the mixture of baking soda and water on wet or dry hair starting with the roots.
- Let stand for 1-3 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
Important: baking soda is a natural bleach, avoid it if you have colored hair.
Step 2
vinegar rinse
After washing your hair with baking soda, use apple cider vinegar to rinse.
- Mix 1 part of apple cider vinegar with four parts of water. To minimize the smell of cider vinegar, you can add some oil essentials of lavender, peppermint or rosemary to your cider vinegar then mix them with water .
- Tilt your head back, close your eyes (to avoid hurting your eyes), then pour the mixture on the roots. If you have long hair, tilt the head forward (keeping eyes closed) then rinse your hair.
- Massage the scalp.
- Leave on for a few seconds before rinsing the hair with cold water.
Cold water is beneficial for the hair, as it enhances shining and smoothness aspect of the hair. In addition, it removes frizz and tightens the pores of the scalp, thus fighting against hair loss
