Bacterial Vaginosis

Recurring as annoying problem, bacterial vaginosis is a genital infection caused by bacteria and a deep imbalance of the vaginal flora. Various natural solutions regulate the natural pH of the vagina to better control the infection.

What is bacterial vaginosis and how does it manifest?

Bacterial vaginosis is not necessarily a sexually transmitted infection. It is due to an imbalance of the vaginal flora due to the excessive proliferation of anaerobic bacterial flora (Gardnerella vaginalis, Bacteroides, Mobiluncus species and Prevotella) to the detriment of the vaginal lactobacilli normally present in the vaginal cavity to maintain normal acidity .

Asymptomatic in the majority of women, bacterial vaginosis is often benign and manifests itself in vaginal flows fluid and sticky, greyish color. If they smell the odor of damaged fish, there is no doubt that it is indeed a vaginosis. The odor is all the more exacerbated after sexual intercourse, or during a sniff-test performed in the gynecologist.

However, bacterial vaginosis is dangerous in pregnant women and can lead to premature deliveries.

How to treat bacterial vaginosis naturally?

The yogurts are packed with probiotics, hence the idea of applying to the vulva or the vagina to restore the natural pH of the flora. To do this, dip a compress in a natural yogurt, without sugar, additives or any other dyes or flavors and introduce it into your vagina to overcome a bacterial infection. Eating yogurt is just as beneficial. Lactobacilli pass into the gastrointestinal tract until the rectum reaches the vagina and effect the vagina by fighting the bad bacteria.

The cider vinegar

Antiseptic and antibacterial par excellence, cider vinegar eliminates odors and vaginal mycoses and restores the acidity of the vaginal flora. Make baths by diluting 2 cups of cider vinegar in a bowl or bidet filled with hot water. You can also drink two teaspoons of cider vinegar each day diluted in a glass of water.

The calendula

Soothing and restorative, the calendula does wonders against various skin bumps. It disinfects wounds, calms inflammation and soothes itching. Soak calendula pads and apply them on the vagina to reduce irritation.

Antibacterial and fungicide, garlic is an uncompromising ally against vaginal infections. Peel and stick a clove of raw garlic, wrap it in a sterile compress soaked in olive oil and then insert it into the vagina. Leave the ends of the compress visible on the outside to facilitate the removal of the compress.

Caution: In high doses, garlic may be irritating to the vaginal mucosa, especially in women with no infection or mycosis.

Tea Tree Oil

Stimulant immune and anti-infectious, the tea tree essential oil would have magical effects on vaginal infections. Apply a drop of essential oil three times a day not on the intimate parts but on the belly by making circular motions. It should be noted that it is imperative to consult a therapist before using any essential oil.

These grains, expectorants and drainers, are highly recommended for women, as they promote the menstrual cycle and hormonal balance. Reduce 1 tablespoon of fenugreek seeds in a mortar so as to obtain a powder and then mix it to a cup of water brought to a boil. Allow the mixture to stand before drinking or using it in vaginal douching. As a precaution, fenugreek should not be used by pregnant women and young children.

The golden seal

The golden seal or Hydrastis is recommended in the treatment of inflammations as well as vaginal infections. It is also used to alleviate post-delivery haemorrhages and abundant menstruation.

Boric acid suppository

The administration of boric acid capsules makes it possible to effectively combat bacterial vaginosis thanks to the antifungal and disinfectant properties of boric acid.
