Recipe of a homemade syrup to fight digestive disorders

Ingredients:
  • 2 organic lemons
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 5 teaspoons of fennel seeds
  • 2 teaspoons half leaf balm
  • 2 teaspoons of mint leaves
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • ½ cup organic honey
  • 1 liter of water

Preparation:

Boil water with cinnamon sticks and fennel seeds and let steep for 10 minutes. Put off the heat and add the leaves of lemon balm and mint, turmeric and ginger. Let stand for 5 minutes before filtering the preparation.

In a robot, put the filtered infusion, the whole lemons and mix for one minute. Filter and then return to a saucepan, boil over low heat for 30 minutes. Once lukewarm add the honey.

Then let the syrup cool and pour it into an airtight glass bottle to keep it in the refrigerator for 2 weeks.

Benefits:

-Turmeric facilitates digestion and has antioxidant, analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties that relieve cramps. People with gall bladder problems should avoid it.

- Ginger facilitates digestion and prevents nausea and vomiting often caused by gastritis and colitis. However, it is not recommended for pregnant women, those who suffer from diabetes and those who suffer from blood diseases.

Additional Tips:

- Aloe vera is renowned for its many virtues on the skin but also for its action on the body. It is essentially the gel which has anti-inflammatory properties and which makes it possible to heal the digestive tract. It is recommended to consume one to two spoon of aloe vera pulp 10 minutes before the meal in case of pain.

- Papaya is now known for its digestive properties thanks to two digestive enzymes that it contains, papain which promotes the degradation of complex proteins and the digestion of heavy and acidic foods.

It is advisable to consume the fresh fruit or an infusion of papaya leaves after the meal. Papaya is not recommended for sensitive people because it can cause allergies and respiratory problems.
