Cholesterol the Hidden Truth

Cardiovascular disease is the 2nd cause of death after cancer dan s developed countries. Fat and cholesterol are among the major risk factors for developing these diseases. For this, any excess fat or cholesterol has now become synonymous with poor health, and will be treated with various drugs and cholesterol-lowering diets. But is it really necessary? Fats and cholesterol are bad for you-they really? -they Are truly involved in cardiovascular disease? And what about treatment regimes and anti-cholesterol?

Cholesterol and cardiovascular disease is the link? Cholesterol during its passage in the blood can sometimes be attacked by free radicals: this is called peroxidation. Free radicals are, remember, the waste generated in case of oxidative stress.

This peroxidation transforms cholesterol and contributes to the formation of a viscous substance called atheroma. This will then form atherosclerotic plaques that can eventually clog our arteries. These phenomena are of gradual and insidious onset and in the absence of prevention and treatment will lead to cardiovascular diseases such as heart attack and paralysis (stroke). Oxidative stress is the factor to look for and deal with, not the cholesterol that is just another victim of oxidative stress among others (DNA ...). Cholesterol is not directly responsible for cardiovascular disease.

Why do we talk so good or mau'll cholesterol? Bad cholesterol LDL says is the one that causes heart disease, HDL cholesterol is good for us otherwise. Really ? And if I told you it is not so? The reality is there is only one cholesterol using two different means of transport. These cholesterol carriers called lipoproteins as they are constituted of lipids and proteins and are beings of low or high density. Those are called low-density LDL for "Low Density Lipoprotein" and those are called high-density HDL for "high density lipoprotein".

So there is only one form of cholesterol. Depending on the density of the carrier, cholesterol is good or less protected aggressions (free radicals) during its passage into the blood. LDL-cholesterol complex will be more fragile and therefore more likely to be oxidized compared to HDL cholesterol, which is better protected him. Bad cholesterol do not exist. In fact, there is nothing bad cholesterol.

Why reduce cholesterol? And is beneficial to your health? Treating oxidative stress is unprofitable for the pharmaceutical lobby saw that antioxidants are not patentable. It was therefore a designer responsible for cardiovascular disease that could exploit. In a modern society or aesthetic trends advocate thinness, designer fat as unhealthy factor flowed naturally. Cholesterol therefore represents the perfect culprit, and has become THE risk factor to eradicate at any cost. This would have gone unnoticed, only the role of cholesterol in our body is not harmless, quite the contrary.

Cholesterol? To do what ? Our steroid hormones are produced from cholesterol. These hormones include other Testosterone in men, estrogen in women, but also managing stress hormone (cortisol) and the famous DHEA. Reduce your cholesterol with the standards determined by the laboratories will therefore often alter your natural production of steroid hormones.

The consequences ? Early menopause signs and more intense in women, the onset of andropause and male impotence, reduced resistance to stress and accelerated aging. Is not this not evil "new" plaguing our society today? Cholesterol is also part of the brain components. It is therefore not surprising to the increase in impaired memory and concentration. "Balance your hormones and optimize your aging requires proper management of your cholesterol"

What then?

● Fight against oxidative stress will not only protect your cholesterol, but also prevent many other diseases such as cancer, and of course optimize your aging.

● Do not deprive yourself of foods rich in cholesterol (meat, egg yolk, olive oil ...). But beware, no excess and especially adopt a healthy lifestyle (physical activity!).

● Do not mix cholesterol and bad fats (Saturated). Saturated fats are to be avoided, until proven otherwise.

● A diet or a cholesterol-lowering treatment are indicated for certain diseases such as fatty liver. But the treatment should nevertheless adopt some rules in order not to harm your health.

● Choose a doctor aware of the issue. Treatment of high cholesterol has referred preventive is a notion to reconsider and normal values to see when it comes to prevention.
