For more than 2000 years, the famous Roman philosopher Seneca said: "If you want your secret to be kept, the safest thing is to keep it yourself." Although it seems normal to reveal aspects of our lives to loved ones, it is also important to keep some things personal for oneself, not to reveal them to people who may be in bad faith.

According to the teachings of the sages of India who have based their philosophy on reflections that relate to our inner being, it is important to keep certain secrets for ourselves. These secrets are often directly related to our weaknesses or achievements.

The fundamental aspect of Hindu philosophical thought is its practical nature. The thought of the Hindu sages was centered on solving the fundamental problems of life. His wisdom is born from the attempt to achieve a better life.

According to Hindu wisdom, to achieve a better life, everyone must keep their secrets to themselves, and this fits into 7 aspects of life. Here they are :

1) Do not reveal your plans:
You never really know who you are planning for the future. These projects are very personal because they are simply YOUR projects!

No idea is perfect and everything you intend to do or achieve can be subject to negative criticism and even sabotage by envious people who do not like to see people succeed or who simply find defects where there is none. Wait for your projects to come up to talk about it.

2) Do not disclose your charitable acts:
There is nothing more detestable than someone who boasts of having been generous or of having performed an act of charity.

Doing something good for someone is amazing and we know that in our world we need more charitable people, but you do not have to tell everyone you meet. This only concerns you.

3) Do not disclose your heroic deeds:
If you have shown a courageous attitude or made a heroic act, it is not necessary to shout it on all roofs.

For visible acts, we usually receive well-deserved recognition from others, but for acts that are not seen, recognition must be personal and should be used instead to build self-esteem.

4) Do not disclose your privacy:
For some very personal and individual subjects, each human being must always keep them for himself and limit himself to subject them to introspective and personal reflection.

Your problems concerning the couple, the physical intimacy or your privacy are problems that you must keep for yourself and it is useless to reveal them. Hindu wisdom aspires to inner harmony by the person's own means.

5) Do not disclose your spiritual knowledge:
Let us not forget that we speak of precepts of wise men from India who place spirituality at a very high place and give it great esteem.

Spirituality is something we must keep for ourselves because it is considered a treasure that is related to how we see the world that differs in each individual, since it is a personal and intimate experience.

Your ideas, your thoughts, your analysis of life and spirituality can not be shared with everyone, so it is best to keep it all to oneself to avoid being questioned about such a deep and personal aspect.

6) Do not disclose your family problems:
Everything that happens in a house must stay there. Sharing conflicts in a home, in a family, or in a couple's life may seem like a relief, but in many cases, talking about personal problems with multiple people just makes things more complicated. As a result, these same problems seem more serious than their actual size and they can never be solved.

Family conflicts can only be solved within the family and keeping them for oneself is good for family ties.

7) Do not disclose everything you hear:
Bringing home the problems we've heard or commenting negatively on what is happening to others is a waste of time and energy that we can use to generate something positive for ourselves and those around us. Going home with negative ideas does not create anything good.
