Benefits of ingredients

Aloe vera
Aloe vera may offer some protection against inflammation of the stomach. A 2011 study published in the International Journal of Molecular Medicine found that Aloe vera helps protect, in part, alcohol-induced gastric ulcers and gastritis in mice.

Aloe vera contains anthraquinones that stimulate the colon and soften the stool, making it a powerful natural laxative effective against constipation.

Aloe vera contains key ingredients such as aloin, aloin-emodin, resins, tannins and polysaccharides, more than 20 minerals, 12 vitamins and 19 essential amino acids for good health. In addition, it provides aloemannan, a complex sugar that concentrates in the kidneys. According to Phyllis A. Balch, Certified Nutrition Consultant and author of the book Prescription for Herbal Healing, Aloemannan stimulates healthy kidney cell production while slowing the rate of crystal deposits that cause kidney stones.

Honey
Most types of honey contain components that generate hydrogen peroxide, a common antibacterial agent that is ineffective when diluted in gastric liquids. Manuka honey contains a unique antibacterial agent, methylglyoxal, from the manuka tree, which can retain its bactericidal properties in the digestive tract.

A 1994 study published in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine showed that a 20% solution of Manuka honey inhibited seven strains of H. pylori bacteria. The study also showed that a 40% solution of a second honey with antibacterial activity generating hydrogen peroxide showed no inhibitory activity against H. pylori bacteria.

Lemon
The acidity of lemon can help stomach acid digest food, which not only brings more nutrients to the intestines, but also reduces symptoms of indigestion, bloating and heartburn, according to Biochemistry of Human Nutrition. Lemon also has antimicrobial properties and is a rich source of vitamin C, which combine to reduce the incidence of infections throughout the gastrointestinal tract. In addition, although lemon juice contributes to the acidity of the stomach, it actually has an alkaline effect on blood and other tissues, which boosts immunity and inhibits the proliferation of many types of microbes.

Lemon contains citrate or citric acid, a chemical that prevents the formation of kidney stones. Citrate can also break small stones in the kidneys, allowing them to pass more easily.

Caution :
Aloe vera is not recommended for pregnant or lactating women, and for people taking anticoagulant medications or corticosteroids.

Lemon should be avoided for people with stomach ulcers, biliary disorders, or citrus allergy.
