The summer season is often synonymous with beach, swimming, barbecue and relaxing with family and friends in the open air. But it is without counting on the untimely presence of mosquitoes that particularly like heat and humidity and take pleasure in pricking us! Sprays, taken, gel, homeopathy, everything is an excuse to remove them or to soothe their bites.

Another factor attracts mosquitoes to us: our body heat. Indeed, the combination of what the human body emits strongly attracts mosquitoes. The emission of carbon dioxide allows us to spot, the body odors and bacteria that our body houses allow them to detect us at the speed of lightning. Thus, they are attracted by all the substances released by our skin through perspiration.

Protect yourself and get rid of mosquitoes

Of course the first idea that comes to mind and that almost everyone uses, is the anti-mosquito spray even if the catch, much more ecological and skin repellents, are also very popular during the summer. Although effective in the moment, sprays can be relatively harmful to health and the ozone layer because of their concentration of chemicals and other gases under pressure. Hence the importance of turning and using natural repellents to chase this star of the insect so invasive whose bites are highly unpleasant.

Natural repellents

Lemon eucalyptus essential oil

The lemon eucalyptus oil has above all virtues

- anti-inflammatories. Very effective to soothe itching after an ugly mosquito bite! Moreover, eucalyptus has a painkilling activity, mainly thanks to its antioxidant properties and

- anti-inflammatories. Its pleasant lemon scent makes it an excellent ally for repelling and keeping mosquitoes at bay.

Lemongrass essential oil

The molecules contained in the essential oil of lemongrass disturb the nervous system of insects that prefer to move away. These same molecules that act as a repellent will also be very useful in soothing the itching and inflammation caused by the bite.

The mosquito, when it stings us, injects us an anticoagulant molecule, which allows it to suck the blood as it wants. It is this that causes the formation of edema and itching, because our immune system sends white blood cells to fight against the invader. The lemon scent that emanates from the essential oil strongly repels mosquitoes, especially if we put a few drops of lemongrass essential oil on his clothes which is also particularly effective by atmospheric diffusion.

Citrus fruits

Mosquitoes do not like lemon odors, so we must favor plants with citrus flavors to repel the unwanted. The lemon and orange peels when gently rubbed on the skin in summer, also make mosquitoes flee.

Natural mosquito jars

The combination of essential oils and citrus is a combination for the least effective to repel mosquitoes. Here is what you will need to prepare the natural repellent based on essential oils and citrus:
