The accumulation of fat in the liver is not new at all for medicine but it remains little known to the general public. This silent disease has no particular symptoms and does not cause pain, making diagnosis difficult and often late.

One disease and two variants
Fatty liver disease can be caused by many factors such as alcohol consumption, alcoholic fatty liver disease, overweight and obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, or sedentary lifestyle. In these cases, it is non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease:
This disorder has become the most common liver disorder in the Western world. The latter occurs most often in overweight and middle-aged people, it consists of an accumulation of fat in the liver, which compromises the ability of this organ to function properly.

People who develop this disease often only realize it when it reaches an advanced stage or fortuitously thanks to a blood test. To avoid this, consider including these foods in your diet on a regular basis.

The worst enemy of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease

1. Ginger
Ginger root is high in fiber, which helps maintain a healthy digestive tract and eliminate toxins from the body. Antioxidants, on the other hand, strengthen the immune system against infections and diseases. You can put it in your tea, in a homemade stir-fry or in your salad. However, if you are a pregnant or breastfeeding woman or if you have diabetes or blood diseases, you should avoid consuming ginger. This is also valid for weak people.

2. Lemon
Lemon acts as a gentle and subtle internal cleanser for the liver. It also stimulates the production of bile in the liver, which helps our body to digest fats. Its high content of antioxidants and vitamin C also boosts the immune system. Lemon also contains a compound called "naringinine" that helps relieve inflammation of the liver.

If you are allergic to citrus fruits, or have kidney and biliary disorders or heartburn or ulcers, do not consume lemon.

3. Beets
Beets, thanks to their high betaine content, help the liver to play its role better. While non-alcoholic hepatic steatosis hampers the natural functioning of the liver, sugar beets help detoxify the liver and digest lipids, even when fat accumulates at significant levels in the liver.

4. Sweet potatoes
Thanks to their rich carotenes which have an anti-inflammatory power, sweet potatoes help clean the liver. They also contain magnesium, iron, vitamin B6, C and D. They also have anti-inflammatory properties that make it an ally of choice for people with fatty liver.

Turmeric has powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that allow it to reduce inflammation in the body and treat digestive disorders. This spice also helps to improve liver function by increasing the liver's ability to detoxify.

6. Milk Thistle

This plant contains powerful antioxidants that can protect your body from nerve damage, abnormal aging of the brain and cancer. It helps rebuild liver cells while eliminating harmful toxins to the body. Knowing that more than 200 experiments have been conducted on Milk Thistle and have proven that it lowered mortality in patients with hepatic insufficiency.

7. Dandelion
Tea made from dandelion root helps to maintain a proper flow of bile in the body, which therefore helps the digestive process. This particular flower contains many vitamins and nutrients that help maintain the proper functioning of the liver. The stem and dandelion leaves are rich in vitamin C and help to absorb minerals and reduce inflammation in the body.

8. Black seed oil
Research conducted by the Department of Therapeutic Chemistry at the Egyptian National Research Center in Cairo has shown that oil nigella was able to reduce the progression as well as complications due to fatty liver. It speeds up the healing process.
