The birth of a child is always an extraordinary event in the life of the parents. A pregnancy and the birth of a baby can disrupt their lives. Especially when the nine months of pregnancy were, not a great period as one would expect, but a real ordeal, as was the case for this couple who went through many difficulties that were as many trials as they overcame with perseverance and courage.

It often happens that parents burst into tears at the sight of their newborn; tears of joy, wonder, or admiration. However, if that father cried that day, the reason was quite different.

Kristie Perez, the photographer who immortalized this exceptional event, came back in a discussion with her client about the clich├ęs she had taken. On one of them, he could be seen standing in the delivery room, a few steps from his wife and son, moved and weeping. When Kristie mentioned this moment, the father revealed to him that he was not crying for joy at seeing his son.

The real reason for the tears of this father and husband

When she discovered the real reason why this man had fallen to tears, she thought she had to share her story with the world.

This is how the photographer posted her photos on the website Love What Matters, accompanied by this beautiful story so that the world can share his emotion and that of this father.

Here is what she writes:

"He watched helplessly as his wife vomited profusely for more than nine months. He saw her lose 14 kg during pregnancy because of hyperemesis and pre-eclampsia.

She was hospitalized 4 times during her pregnancy for dehydration. He dined more times in the doorway than he could count, because any smell made him literally sick.

After months of just being there for her, present by her side, he supported her at birth. I told him that I took a picture of him when he cried when he saw his son and he said, "I was not crying for that".

Perplexed, I asked him what he meant.

He burst into tears a second time and said, "This is the first time I see her smile in 10 months."

Gentlemen, understand the power of your support.

To all mothers who have difficult pregnancies and still find a reason to smile ... Thank you for sacrificing yourself and fighting for your precious child. It's not an easy feat. "

Nausea and vomiting during pregnancy
30% to 50% of women experience nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, most often in the first trimester. These symptoms are triggered when the mother is in the presence of odors of certain foods, as well as those of proven harmful products such as alcohol or cigarette smoke. These symptoms usually do not pose a danger to the mother and the baby.

Except when they are pushed to the extreme as is the case with hyperemesis gravidarum, a disease that appears during pregnancy and which affects only about 1% of women. This disease, which must be considered very seriously and requires specialist care, is manifested by severe and uncontrollable nausea and vomiting that can last all through pregnancy and cause dehydration of the mother as well as a deficiency in certain mineral salts such as sodium, chlorine or potassium. The mother is at risk of undernourishment and this can influence the baby's growth, which may also be born with a lower weight than normal.

How to prevent these pains of pregnancy?
Nausea and vomiting can really spoil the lives of expectant mothers as well as their families, as we have seen with the moving testimony above. Yet, they may not be as inevitable as one might think.

According to a study from Cornell University in New York, which has established a link between the symptoms of nausea and vomiting, and diet. They would be a way for the mother's body to protect the baby from dangerous products that could hinder her healthy development.

These pains of pregnancy, which are more specific to the human species, could thus be reduced or even avoided by a healthy diet and devoid as much as possible of toxic products.
