One of the leading scientists in the study, Mark Wood says that the substance in the gases emanating from rotten eggs and farts was certainly nauseating but that it reserved its share of benefits for our health. These benefits include mitigating the risk of life-threatening diseases such as cancer, heart attacks or strokes. But it has also been proven that hydrogen sulfide prevents certain conditions such as arthritis and dementia in the elderly.

How does hydrogen sulfide affect our body?
As part of this research, the experts eventually came up with a formula called AP39, which is supposed to ensure that our body absorbs the right amount of hydrogen sulfide. They think that AP39 can be the basis of future therapies in this direction.
