We tend to believe that we have more problems than others, and we often forget that life has given us so many beautiful things for which we should be extremely grateful. Yet, it is enough to see how some people manage to be happy despite all the suffering they experience to see that we can all achieve absolute happiness, if we are content with what we have ...

Having a heart that beats every day inside our breasts to keep us alive is something quite ordinary, some of you will say. But did you know that there are people who are forced to fight to make their hearts beat? Here is the story of this little girl, 8 years old, born with the heart outside her ribcage, and discover the moving story of her daily fight against the disease.

Virsaviya: A little girl like no other ...
At the age of 8, Virsaviya already has a long history of fighting behind her. This little girl of Russian origin born with the heart outside her ribcage, had to face countless obstacles, to lead a normal life.

When Virsaviya was born, her mother was extremely surprised to find that her heart was lodged outside her rib cage, and that it was only protected by a thin layer of her skin; This is a cardiac ectopia. The doctors then told her that her daughter will never be able to conquer her illness, and that she will sooner or later succumb to it. But this brave little girl managed to thwart all the established diagnoses and kept spreading the good mood around her.

In addition, her mother was desperate to save her life by trying to convince doctors to perform surgery for her daughter. But they refused, and told him that she had to first take a treatment to reduce her blood pressure before she could undergo surgery.

Today, Virsaviya moved to the United States with her mom and strictly follows the instructions of the doctors in order to realize her dearest dream: Perform her surgery, and live without suffering.

The courage and bravery of this little girl shows us that we must be grateful for all the things we have, and that we can all be happy despite all the obstacles that can hinder our path.

Cardiac ectopia: What is it?
Cardiac ectopia is a congenital heart defect. It is one of the five cardinal malformations of Cantrell's pentalogy, an extremely rare disease that affects only a small part of the population. This disease, which often endangers the lives of children who have it, is characterized by a bad positioning of the heart in the body. Depending on the case, it may be on the chest, outside the rib cage, and even in other parts of the body.

Among the dysfunctions often associated with cardiac ectopia are:

Inter-Aural Communication: An illness characterized by dysfunction that causes poor communication between the two atria of the heart, causing abnormal blood flow to the heart and lungs.

- The tetralogy of Fallot: Also known as the blue disease, the tetralogy of Fallot is a cyanogenic congenital heart disease. This condition can cause a decrease in blood flow to the lungs, as well as poor oxygenation in the heart. In infants, it causes symptoms such as respiratory failure, irritability and sleep problems.

- Tricuspid atresia: Children with tricuspid atresia suffer from the absence of the tricuspid valve. A heart valve located between the right atrium and the right ventricle of the heart. When the latter is not present, the myocardium can no longer function properly, and dysfunctions such as high blood pressure, poor oxygenation of cells, and disruption of blood flow can occur.

- The right ventricle with double exit: This congenital heart disease is explained by a bad positioning of the aorta of the heart and the pulmonary artery. The children who suffer from it can show signs like: loss of appetite, respiratory embarrassment, insomnia ...
