Red, yellow or white, the beet is presented in different colors, but the red beet is the most common and the most consumed and embellishes all our dishes. Consumed raw or cooked, in salad or dish, it is full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants for the well-being of our taste buds but also our health.

Considered a superfood, beets are rich in essential nutrients. It is a good source of vitamins A, B, C, and K, iron, potassium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, selenium, copper, zinc, iron and fiber. Beet is composed of nitrate that is converted to nitric oxide in the body to dilate and relax the blood vessels. Just as it contains an amino acid, called betaine, likely to prevent circulatory problems.

2- To improve the health of the skin
Beet is rich in folate, which is one of the B vitamins and vitamin C, and helps correct skin imperfections and prevent skin cancer.

3- To improve liver health
Source of betalaines, phyto-nutrient, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, beet acts as a detoxifier of the liver. Similarly, the glycine and methionine that this vegetable contains, prevent the accumulation of fatty acids in the liver.

Caution
For people taking blood thinners, it is advisable to limit beet consumption that contains vitamin K, and promotes blood clotting.

It may be that the stool or urine takes on a reddish complexion after a few hours of beet consumption since it contains the betalaines that are responsible for this color and do not present any health hazard.
