There is nothing more comforting than tasting a good chocolate cake, melting and fluffy! For all lovers of chocolate, we present you a cake recipe without butter or sugar but strong in chocolate that you can enjoy without remorse. But what is it made of?

This famous chocolate cake is very light since butter is replaced by grated zucchini and sugar with stevia which is a natural plant without calories. In addition the flour is replaced by corn flour. Thus, you will have a cake without sugar, without fat and without gluten.

Let's talk chocolate!
Chocolate is the sweetest sin of most of us, but dark chocolate is the best, from a health point of view because it contains a larger amount of cocoa, unlike milk chocolate or white chocolate. Thus, thanks to the antioxidants it holds, especially flavonoids, dark chocolate reduces the risk of coronary heart disease and strokes, increases athletic performance thanks to epicatechin which dilates the blood vessels and reduces the risk of heart disease. 

Consumption of oxygen, reduces hypertension, improves concentration and boosts memory thanks to its theanine content and finally acts as an anti-depressant because of its content of theobromine and magnesium that stimulate and regulate the nervous system.

What about zucchini?
First of all, zucchini is low in calories, high in fiber and stimulates intestinal transit. Then, it contains lutein and zeaxanthin that are part of the family of carotenoids considered antioxidants, protecting the tissues of the eye. Similarly, the rutin it contains protects against bad LDL cholesterol.

Chocolate Cake Recipe
Here is a recipe for chocolate cake soft and light, very easy to prepare and requires a preparation time of 40 minutes and a cooking time of 30 minutes.

  • 20 grams of unsweetened organic cocoa powder
  • 30 grams of organic cornflour
  • 40 grams of stevia
  • 200 grams of organic dark chocolate to bake (between 50 and 70% cocoa)
  • 200 grams of grated organic zucchini
  • 4 organic eggs
  • A little vanilla extract


1. Break the chocolate into small pieces and melt in a bain-marie until you get a smooth mixture.

2. Then peel the zucchini and grate it finely to extract 200 grams, without draining.

3. Separate the whites from the egg yolks, and whip the stevia and egg yolks with a little vanilla extract.

4. Add cocoa, cornflour and half of the grated zucchini.

5. Add the melted chocolate and keep for the decoration (about 3 or 4 tablespoons) then add the rest of the zucchini. This last replaces the butter for more soft effect.

6. Whip the egg whites and gently incorporate them into the mixture, lifting the dough for an airy texture.

7. Pour into a nonstick pan and put in the oven for 30 minutes at 180 ° C. the cake will finally be ready and will unmold easily.

8. For more gluttony, pour over the remaining melted chocolate and smooth with a flat spatula. To have a more gourmet cake, you can sprinkle with coconut or hazelnut.
