Ingredients:
  • 1 cup of Epsom salts or sea salt (optional)
  • 10-15 tablets of aspirin
  • 1 lemon
  • Plastic film
  • Cotton or wool socks

Preparation:
Add the cup of Epsom salt to 4 liters of warm water and soak your feet for at least half an hour. Now take a small bowl and put in the aspirin tablets. Squeeze the juice of a lemon in it. Mix it with the tablets until you get a thick paste. When the mixture is ready, cut 2 large enough pieces of plastic film to cover your feet.

After putting your feet out of hot water, dry them with a towel and rub the aspirin / lemon juice mixture against the rough skin to lose some of the dead skin. You should apply more paste on the drier areas of your feet. After that, wrap your feet in the pieces of plastic film that you have already cut, then put on the socks. You should keep the dough on your feet for 4 to 6 hours. Then remove the plastic film and wash your feet with soapy water.

Apply a layer of moisturizer and put on the socks. Leave them all night because the lemon juice can dry them. You can also use a pumice stone to remove dead skin.

Benefits of the ingredients:

Aspirin
According to Joshua Zeichner, director of cosmetic and clinical research at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, aspirin contains aminosalicylic acid, which is related to salicylic acid. Dissolving it in water and applying it to the skin can provide an exfoliation of it, removing dry and dead cells from the skin.

Aspirin contains a chemical called beta-hydroxy acid, it is used in some exfoliating creams and lightening of the skin, and it removes calluses and have a new and soft skin.

It is also an antifungal. Thanks to its content of salicylic acid and beta-hydroxy acid, aspirin is able to stop the proliferation of microorganisms and thus eliminate fungal infections and fungi.

Lemon juice
According to Gary Goldenberg, a New York dermatologist and Mount Sinai Medical Director, lemon juice contains natural acids that can not only eliminate dead agglomerated cells, but also help improve the penetration of aminosalicylic acid. In fact, Goldenberg suspects lemon juice to do most of the work to boost the effect of aspirin.

Lemon is a fruit rich in mineral salts, vitamin C and antioxidants that allow it to regenerate skin cells. It can also give a lighter and healthier appearance to the skin.

Epsom salt
Epsom salt has been used for hundreds of years as a healing agent and as an analgesic. However, it is most often added to hot baths and footbaths as a detoxifying agent and to reduce stress.

Epsom salt can be used as an exfoliant to soften rough, cracked feet. In addition to reducing the symptoms of pain and promoting healing, Epsom salt can be dissolved in warm water to reduce the inflammation caused by gout, eliminate unpleasant odors and help treat infections.

Caution :
It is inadvisable to expose oneself to the sun after applying lemon to the skin, this can trigger a sensitivity of it.

Lemon may be irritating to certain skin types and may cause burning or redness. It is recommended to make a test on a small area of the skin before any application.
