The society we live in is so obsessed with looking younger that it's hard to believe there was a time, people wore gray wigs to look older and therefore wiser. Today, everything is made available to hide the marks of time. From hair dyes to Botox to Viagra, anti-wrinkle creams to surgery, everything is good to take to satisfy the myth of eternal youth.

Bombarded daily with images through magazines, billboards, advertising and social media, women, in particular, have come to understand the power of youth, especially sensuality. Indeed, it opens many doors to explore our libido and our relationships. However, we are so stuck in this sphere that we find it difficult to admit that nature can leave traces of the past years.

Women are taught that their age is a taboo subject and that, unjustly and to a lesser extent, men seem to be able to continue living without fear that their age may affect their attractiveness, career or sensuality. Youth is something that is constantly sought after and we generally aspire to capture it through beauty products and cosmetic surgery.

However, whoever has never sought to rejuvenate us throws the first stone. There is indeed no harm in wanting to preserve his body to the fullest, and this is also quite understandable. However, to save your health and your wallet, it is better to use natural products without adverse effects or side effects.

Why is our skin aging?

Before going any further, let's first try to understand why our skin is aging. In fact, skin aging is caused by a combination of natural aging and exposure to the sun. The result is sagging skin, wrinkles and spots.

Our skin is made up of two distinct layers: the epidermis which constitutes a barrier and protects us from external aggressions and the dermis which is rich in collagen and responsible for the elasticity of the skin. As both layers experience strong shaking during our lives, damage builds up over time.

The dermis contains an array of extracellular matrix proteins called ECM, including collagen and elastin. Also, dermal fibroblast cells not only produce proteins, but they are also firmly housed and connected to them. However, as the extracellular matrix ages, it gradually loses the constituent elements, as the protein structures fragment. Which explains the appearance of wrinkles.

A natural Lemon mask to reduce your wrinkles

Ingredients
  • 1 egg white
  • ½ teaspoon of lemon juice

Preparation
Put your egg white in a bowl and whip energetically until it is lathered. Add the lemon juice and mix gently.

Clean your face and neck first and then apply the mask. Massage gently with circular movements. Leave for 5 to 10 minutes then rinse with warm water. Finally, apply a cream to moisturize your skin.

Do this treatment 1 to 2 times a week and you will notice the difference!

Why does it work?

Lemon: Thanks to the citric acid it contains, the lemon has lightening properties, reducing the brown spots that appear with age. A study has shown that lemon extract is used in some cosmetic products for whitening. Natural antiseptic, lemon not only lighten and brighten the complexion, but also acts as an astringent and toner to eliminate impurities.

The egg white: Rich in protein (1 egg containing 3.6 grams of protein), the egg white acts directly on your dermis by tightening the pores of your skin and increasing its elasticity. This will also regulate sebum levels of oily skin while avoiding dehydration.

Caution
Be careful never to use lemon care during the day because it can have photosensitizing effects. Also, we do not recommend applying lemon directly (and in large quantities) on your skin at the risk of irritating it.
