Indeed, acne can come from various sources and without treatment, it can last for years. Beyond dermatological consultations, remember, essential to cope with this disease, there are some natural tips to reduce the appearance of pimples. Explanations.
The remedies that we propose today are mainly based on the use of lemon, honey and rose water. These three ingredients are not chosen at random; their benefits on the skin are extremely effective.
Organic lemon and honey
The topical application of lemon and its essential oil is an integral part of alternative and complementary medicine to fight against acne. Citrus contains vitamin C with antioxidant action that reduces the impact of free radicals and oxidative stress. According to a study published by The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, the latter produce peroxides responsible for secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines causing significant damage to the skin. The release and proliferation of these has been scientifically recognized as one of the consequences of acne.
However, lemon alone is not recommended for treatment (unless applied to specific parts of the face). Its acidic effect must be combined with a milder ingredient to avoid skin irritation, hence the use of organic honey. Indeed, it contains flavonoids with antibacterial, antioxidant, soothing, antiviral and healing properties that promote the repair of damaged tissue by minimizing skin inflammation. In some cases, the honey has even shown considerable action on wounds insensitive to antiseptic and antibiotic treatments.
Rose water
Rose water, like rose essential oil, has analgesic, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. It is also found in many cosmetic products, particularly because of its astringent action to clean and tone the skin. This is not all, this water also has antibacterial and antiseptic properties that prove very useful to fight against skin infections.
