Quitting smoking can be very hard. Thus, between hypnosis sessions and therapy, smokers try several ways to get there. In the last decade, the use of electronic cigarettes has become much more popular among people who want to completely quit the traditional cigarette. However, it is not safe, and can be fatal in some cases. As evidenced by this story relayed by BBC.

Is Vapoter really safe? And how can e-cigarettes help quit smoking? These are questions that experts ask themselves after the growing popularity of e-cigarettes. There is one point on which everyone can agree, the electronic cigarette actually allows to replace one addiction by another since it maintains the presence of nicotine. But, it is said, the ravages in health would be less. Is that safe for all that? Not really according to the many cases of fatal incidents that occur after prolonged use of the electronic cigarette.

As reported by our Fox News colleagues, 24-year-old William Brown died of penetrating neck trauma. The cause behind this tragic accident is none other than his electronic cigarette. As a patient with asthma, one of his friends advised him to smoke instead of smoking, thus thinking to help him without suspecting the fatal outcome. On his way back home, the young man was trying to use his new gadget except that it broke out, debits having sanctioned his left carotid and damaged his skull. In fact, a fragment would have infiltrated his throat, cutting an artery, thus causing a cerebrovascular accident. The fragment, as reported by his grandmother could not be removed in time to save him.

According to the investigators, the battery of the device was defective, causing the explosion. The accident occurred in the parking lot, the manager of the electronic cigarette store in question, called the emergency service when he saw the young man struggling at the place where he was parked. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where he died two days later.

The dangers of the electronic cigarette
Although recommended during the smoking cessation period, it is not an effective way to stop smoking. On the other hand, it can help you gradually lower your consumption until it stops. But she is not without danger. According to a study by the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, the electronic cigarette could increase the risk of cardiovascular disease because of the artificial flavors it can contain. On the other hand, scientific research carried out by the American Journal of Physiology would have revealed the potential involvement of vaping in the development of pulmonary inflammation.

It goes without saying that this method is not the most exemplary, since it is a question of substituting one addiction for another. Nicotine still being present. To stop smoking, and if you can not afford to see a specialist, it is always possible to do it effectively.

The first is to show a real desire to quit. It's not always easy especially if most people around you are smokers. Start by making a list of the negative things that are generated by smoking, you could focus on the budget part and evaluate the related expenses. Calculate the total cost on a one-week basis, and create a self-motivating system. For example, if smoking costs you 60 euros a week, you could give yourself a gift or a good evening with this money to congratulate you on your first week of weaning. Once you get used to your new lifestyle, you will realize that on the basis of a month, it still makes you a little money of 240 euros. You can use it to offer a little getaway for a weekend.

Then, try to identify the times when you smoke most often. Generally, it is related to a certain routine such as lighting a cigarette after a meal or in times of stress. You must know that the desire to smoke only lasts a few minutes, so be patient and wait for it to pass.

You can also talk to your smoker to explain their desire to stop. You may have to limit your outings with them first, until you get used to your new non-smoking life.
