To date, the number of diets and slimming programs is increasing more and more, and if you want to lose weight, there is an infinity of choices available to you, depending on your request. However, they are not all effective or beneficial to your health. The metabolic diet has long been discussed because of its enticing promises. Cosmopolitan magazine takes stock of this controversial program.

In 13 days, it would be possible to lose up to 20 Pounds with this diet, a loss of weight that would be the direct result of a metamorphosis that undergoes metabolism, hence the name "metabolic diet".

It is therefore in the same manual as the diet proposed by Diane Kress, American dietician and author of "The Metabolism Miracle", which is not as restrictive and short.

  • Lunch: A slice of turkey + 2 boiled eggs + a tomato and spinach
  • Dinner: A tomato + boiled celery + a fruit of your choice

Day 4
  • Breakfast: a slice of bread + a coffee
  • Lunch: Natural yogurt + 200 ml fresh orange juice
  • Dinner: 100 ml of white cheese + a carrot + a hard-boiled egg

Day 5
  • Breakfast: a slice of bread + a coffee
  • Lunch: 150 g of salmon
  • Dinner: 100 g beef + salad

Day 6
  • Breakfast: a slice of bread + a coffee
  • Lunch: A carrot + a boiled egg
  • Dinner: Spinach salad + 150 g grilled chicken

Day 7
  • Breakfast: 1 coffee
  • Lunch: It will drink water only
  • Dinner: Lamb chops (no more than 200 g) + an apple

Day 8
  • Breakfast: 1 coffee
  • Lunch: 1 tomato + 200 g boiled spinach + 2 boiled eggs
  • Dinner: 200 g beef + salad

Day 9
  • Breakfast: 1 coffee without sugar
  • Lunch: A slice of turkey fillet and a light yogurt
  • Dinner: 200 g beef + salad
Day 10
  • Breakfast: a slice of bread, a coffee
  • Lunch: 1 slice of turkey fillet + green salad + 2 hard boiled eggs
  • Dinner: tomato + boiled celery + fruit of your choice
Day 11
  • Breakfast: a slice of bread + a coffee
  • Lunch: Natural yogurt + 200 ml fresh orange juice
  • Dinner: 100 ml of white cheese + a carrot + a hard-boiled egg
Day 12
  • Breakfast: a carrot
  • Lunch: 200 g cooked salmon + a teaspoon of butter
  • Dinner: 200 g beef + salad

Day 13
  • Breakfast: a slice of bread, a coffee
  • Lunch: Carrot + 2 boiled eggs
  • Dinner: 250 g of chicken breast + salad

Weight loss assured but many disadvantages

The metabolic diet is one of the most controversial diets because its daily calorie intake is very low. That is why it is advisable not to exceed the 13 days recommended, at the risk of seeing his health weaken. Indeed, when you follow this diet, you should not exceed the 500 calories daily to get the desired results. A goal that still seems quite drastic when we know that on average, the WHO recommends 2500 calories per day for men and 1500 for women ...

Indeed, even when one does not exceed the duration which is dedicated to him, one takes the risk to cause deficiencies by eating so little, especially that the planning is to be followed to the letter and that no difference can be tolerated. Moreover, the practice of sport is simply impossible during these 13 days because the body is very tired and simply does not have the energy required to provide physical effort. Result: about two weeks to go home to take care of your health.

The consumption of fat is to be avoided even when it comes to cooking food and the addition of industrial sugars is to ban, while consuming at least 2 liters of water per day to better hydrate and encourage the transformation of your body.

The 13-day metabolic diet could ideally serve as a detox to prepare the body to switch to a healthier lifestyle. Nevertheless, its too important deficiencies are a major disadvantage before considering such a restrictive diet.
