Bad News For Those Who Have Hair In Their Ears. Share The Information Around You!

Cardio-vascular diseases are the leading cause of death in the world, they constitute a set of disorders affecting the heart and blood vessels. Studies have shown that several signs can announce the presence of these diseases among others, the presence of hair in the ear.

From a certain age, most men see hairs grow in certain areas of their body. These areas are never hairless, they are rather covered with very fine hairs that will turn into black hairs and thick because of a strong testosterone production. Strange as it may seem, the presence of these hairs in the ear canal can be a sign of heart disease according to science.

More details about the study

Scientists have recently discovered a link between ear canal hair and heart attacks. The origins of this study date back to 1973, it was published in the New England Journal of Medicine on behalf of Dr. Sanders T. Frank and his team. Dr. Frank was able to identify a diagonal fold of the earlobe (a skin mark in the form of a deep and permanent wrinkle on the ear), currently named "Frank's Sign" in his honor, which may indicate a coronary disease.

The 1973 study was the starting point for scientists. Then, in 1984, a group of New York doctors published an article in the New England Journal of Medicine where he expounded the same theory, the ear canal hairs are strongly related to coronary heart disease. A study that involved 43 men and 20 women, 90% of participants who had both a diagonal fold of the earlobe and ear canal hair experienced heart failure.

According to scientist Richard F. Wagner of Boston Medical School, it is the long-term exposure to androgens, the most important male hormone after testosterone, that has led to the formation of clots in the arteries because of excessive production of red blood cells.

Five years later, in 1989, the Indian Heart Journal published an article summarizing the results of a study on the link between the folds of the earlobe, ear hair and coronary artery disease. The study involved 215 Indian patients, according to the authors, a significant difference was also observed between men with or without coronary artery disease in the presence of ear canal hairs with a similar age group.

In June 2006, Edston E. published his study in the American Journal of Forensic Medical Pathology. The purpose of her research was to examine 520 autopsies in terms of body mass index, spleen weight, ear hair, earlobe folds, cause of death, baldness , the thickness of the abdominal fat and a number of other features. It was found that the fold of the ear globe was strongly correlated with coronary heart disease in both men and women but with a sudden heart attack only in men.

While some people blame testosterone supplements as the main cause for ear canal hair and heart attacks, others think it's a typical feature of the aging process and people die of a heart attack because of age or obesity, not because they have hair in their ear canal.

Other signs of aging are related to the risk of cardiovascular disease

Hair loss, baldness, the fold of the ear globe and pockets of fat in the eyelids, would also be linked to a greater risk of heart disease according to a study.

At the annual conference of the American Heart Association, Dr. Anne Tybjaerg-Hansen, Professor of Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark presented her study that demonstrated a link between the signs of aging cited above and the risk of a heart attack.

This study was conducted on nearly 11,000 participants aged 40 and over, 45% of whom were women, and showed that participants with three out of four signs of aging had a 57% increase in the risk of heart attack and stroke. 39% develop heart disease.

This researcher recalls the importance of detecting these signs by doctors during their routine examinations, in order to be able to treat in time!
