It is perfectly normal to sweat. Sweating plays a very important role in helping to maintain body temperature by cooling. When we are hot and sweat, this moisture evaporates and refreshes us a bit. And we do not sweat only when we are hot. It is also normal for people to sweat when they are nervous because emotions can also affect the sweat glands.

When our body starts to change during puberty, about 3 million sweat glands become more active. However, when sweat comes in contact with bacteria on the skin, it can produce an odor that may be stronger in some people than in others. According to the International Society of Hyperhidrosis, there are 2 to 4 million sweat glands distributed throughout our body!

Your body is still sweating, even if you do not notice it. When sweat evaporates, it cools the body, dissipating the heat generated by your metabolism. Visible perspiration pearls only appear on the skin when perspiration exceeds the rate of evaporation, which most often occurs during warm, wet weather during exercise periods or in response to stress. Excessive sweating in these conditions is not uncommon and usually does not indicate a health problem.

What is hyperhidrosis?

Some people sweat causally, during certain periods when the temperature of their bodies increases: as when they are active or nervous. While people with hyperhidrosis sweat at any time. This is due to the hyperactivity of the sweat glands. In addition, there are two different types of hyperhidrosis:

Primary hyperhidrosis: is characterized by excessive sweating generalized or localized in targeted areas such as under the arms or on the hands. It is usually due to genetic disorders.

Secondary Hyperhidrosis: is often a symptom of an underlying health condition, including metabolic disorders: such as hyperthyroidism, diabetes, infections or menopause. It can result from alcohol abuse or caused by certain medications, especially antidepressants.

How can hyperhidrosis impact your quality of life?

In a qualitative study published in the journal Health and Quality of Life Impacts, 71 people with primary hyperhidrosis were interviewed, and the results that the scientists concluded were interesting:

Negative emotions: 69% of the study participants said they felt sadness, anger and despair.

Self-image: The majority of respondents reported low self-esteem and low self-esteem.

Physical discomfort and skin problems: 40% of study participants reported that hyperhidrosis is associated with a certain level of physical discomfort: "having sweat-soaked clothes day after day", "getting wet feet" and 17% of patients reported other skin problems attributed to the constant humidity of hyperhidrosis.

Lifestyle: 61% of patients reported that sweating influences their choice of clothing, especially color and style. Participants also indicated that they can not enjoy certain recreational activities and are unable to travel to hot destinations.

Social life: 75% of respondents reported having difficulties to be seen publicly. 57% reported difficulties interacting with others in common situations such as being in a shared office or classroom, going to a party, eating at a restaurant, using transportation in common or sit in a movie theater.

A natural solution to replace your deodorant:

Lemon contains citric acid, which removes the bacteria responsible for the bad smell and helps reduce excessive sweating. So it's easy: you'll need a fresh lime that you'll cut in half. Rub it carefully against your armpits.

Do not wear your clothes immediately, let the lemon dry to react. This will also prevent your clothes from being stained by lime juice.

Even more, know that antiperspirants contain aluminum and clog your sweat ducts. By using them, you can no longer eliminate toxins via perspiration which is bad for your health.
