Cardiologist Steven Gundry, known for his lectin-free diets, offers a simple recipe for low-calorie bread with only 90 calories for a slice of bread, and it does not cause bloating or inflammation. Its main ingredients are, among others, coconut flour, blanched almond flour and coconut oil.

And according to the cardiologist, it is not only carbohydrates and gluten that are harmful to health but also lectins that can be toxic to the body and found in traditional bread.

What is lectin?

It is a non-digestible protein found naturally in many foods such as cereals, beans or other vegetables and legumes. Moreover, a rat study has shown that lectin can increase bacteria in the small intestine and reduce the defense of mucous membranes.

Recipe for delicious homemade bread

Ingredients

· 500 grams of blanched almond flour
· 500 grams of coconut flour
· 1 tablespoon baking powder

· 5 eggs
· ½ glass of water
· 1/3 glass of coconut oil, fondue

Preparation

· Heat the oven 180 ° and grease a bread pan
· Mix the baking powder with the almond and coconut flour and add after the salt
· Beat the eggs in a bowl and add the water and coconut oil
· Add the flours to the egg mixture, stirring to mix the ingredients and let the dough rest for 1 to 2 minutes
· Pour the dough into the mold by smoothing the top of the mixture with a spoon
· Put in the oven for 50 minutes until the bread is golden brown
· Let cool and then unmold the bread
