Here Is Dr. Seignalet's Diet, The Best Way To Lose Weight And Be Healthy

Developed more than thirty years ago, the diet of Dr. Jean Seignalet is moving away from the typical diets because its goal rests first of all on the improvement of the health. Also known as hypotoxic diet, it advocates a healthy diet that would cure many diseases while eliminating a few pounds by the way ... To find out more, the magazine Femme Actuelle is back on its 6 principles slimming and health.

Created in 1985, the hypotoxic diet of Dr. Seignalet knew how to be adepts as well as enemies. Considered by some to be too drastic a diet, it has aroused all sorts of opinions within the medical community. According to Anne Seignalet, the doctor's daughter, the very idea of the hypotoxic diet is the result of an uneasiness felt by her father, who, suffering from depression and intestinal pain, would first have developed this method to cure himself. even.

With his expertise in immunology, he would have developed a diet that would strengthen the intestinal barrier by preventing pathogenic bacteria to access. Following the study of 115 diseases, Dr. Jean Seignalet reported to have had positive effects on 91 of them, a claim that totally supports the microbiologist Jacqueline Lagacé in her book How I Fought Pain and Inflammation chronic by diet. Indeed, this author and former director of a research laboratory in microbiology and immunology has observed the disappearance of her arthritis pain in her fingers 10 days after the start of the Seignalet diet and would have found the full use of these hands 16 months later.

To better understand how this diet works, here are these six founding principles:

This is not a slimming diet ...

According to Dr. Seignalet's reasoning, many chronic diseases result from unhealthy nutrition, that is to say, too rich in processed foods or not adapted to our needs. Following his study, he observed a positive effect on 91 pathologies that he divided into 3 categories: autoimmune diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, ...), diseases of fouling (fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, tendinitis ...) and elimination diseases (acne, urticaria, Crohn's disease ...).

... but it still allows you to lose weight
Focused on better health, Seignalet diet is not primarily for weight loss and slimming. However, thanks to the restrictions it imposes on your daily nutrition and the many unhealthy foods it makes disappear from your plate, it is quite possible to lose weight over time. According to the doctor himself, it would take 1 kilo lost about every fortnight.

He advocates natural nutrition
To eliminate any risk of ingestion or contact with bacteria, the hypotoxic diet promotes the "home made" and abandons industrial products found in the form of canned or prepared dishes. To follow it to the letter, it is also essential to eat organic products from local agriculture to avoid products infested with pesticides.

He avoids dairy products
For Dr. Seignalet, the argument is not difficult to formulate. Cow's milk is for their little ones! Thus, it would have nothing to do in our food and would in no way be suitable for human digestion. Therefore, it is, with all its derivatives (butter, yogurt, cream ...), banned from our plates in favor of plant alternatives such as almond milk or coconut milk.

He forbids processed cereals
All cereals from modern agriculture undergo genetic mutations that must be avoided. We say goodbye to everything wheat, corn, barley, millet, oats and their derivatives, and we prefer lentils, hazelnuts, chickpeas, quinoa ... etc. The doctor also forbids any product containing gluten!

He favors mild cooking
According to the principles of the hypotoxic diet, foods cooked under high temperature (barbecue, oven and microwave) are likely to generate elements of harmful toxicity and dangerous to health. Ideally, a raw diet would be perfectly suited to Dr. Seignalet's wishes. However, mild cooking is also recommended, including steaming, boiling, waterbathing and temperatures below 110 ° C.
